great blue herons are patient hunters. they wait, still as a tree, for their next meal, trusting that mother earth will supply it. these gentle yet giant birds don’t stress about what’s to come or if it will be bigger or smaller than their last meal. some may blame this on their “small” brains, but I like to think they are much wiser — older souls who have mastered the art of patience.
